 The Boston Celtics is a pro basketball team from Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association of America (NBA). The Celtics have the most championship titles of any NBA team, 17. The team's owner is Wycliffe Grousbeck and the team's coach is Doc Rivers. The Boston Celtics (thanks to Walter Brown) became a charter member of the NBA in 1946, while the 1959-to-1966 domination of the NBA Championship, winning eight straight titles, is the longest consecutive championship winning streak of any North American professional sports team to date. The Celtics currently play their home games at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston. |
